Humanity is the Religion

 

Once there lived a wealthy man who had unpleasant behavior towards people. He used to abuse his servants, shout at his employees and mistreat everyone who worked for him. Everyone was tired of his behavior. He was a great devotee of God. Every morning he would go to the temple and worship God. 

One day, his son decided to go to the temple along with him. As they entered the temple, his son grabbed his hand and ran inside the temple. The man asked his son, 'what happened?' His son said, 'Father run, else those tigers standing at the entrance will eat us.' Upon this, he said, 'dear, those are just statues and not real tigers, it won't eat us.'

The son then said, 'If the tiger statues won't harm us, then how will God's statues give us blessings?' The man was speechless. 

He then understood that he needs to search for God in humans and not in statues. He did not find God, but he found Humanity.
